Letdown in Motown

The Knicks looked tired in the second half against detroit. The first half was competitive though.

The loss of Trevor Ariza for any extented period will be the final nail in the coffin for these Knicks. He has been jumping all over the place making plays lately. As the Knicks' only NBA star-quality athlete, he is the last player they can spare.

Got the Clips without Maggette and Kittles tonight. Take a nap, the game's at 10:30.

Smokin' Herb Williams

The Knicks lost again last night. Sigh. But it was not all bad - after all, Phoenix is the second best team in the league (1/2 a game out of best team overall). The Knicks hung tough last night - especially being short on players - TimThom, Moochie, Allan Who?ston and Penny were unavailable.

Trevor Ariza played his ass off. The Knicks genuinely appeared to try and get the ball in down low to Sweetney and Nazr, and they did a half decent job of pushing Amare Stoudemire out of the paint. But Stoudemire is getting Commercial Guy level respect from the refs now, so you can't look at him without getting a foul call.

Keep it up Herb - let's go get Bron-Bron on friday.

Go Herb Williams Go!!!

The good news is that even losing 9 of their last 10 games, the Knicks are only 1 1/2 games out of first place.

Rock and roll.

Fire Lenny, Part III

By the way, not including their 4 game sweep at the hands of the New Jersey Nets in last years playoffs, Lenny has gone 40-41 as head coach of the Knicks. This from the winningest and losingest coach in NBA history.

Nice knowing you Lenny, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Fire Lenny, Part II

Here's the situation: for a change, the Knicks play well in the 4th to get the game back tied up. So, with 33 seconds left, the Knicks up 91-90, Stephon holds the ball at the point, milking down the clock. Okay, that's fine. But with 3 seconds left on the shot clock, Steph passes to Crawford who fakes and passes back to Steph 'hot-potato' style. Steph is left with the ball in his hands with no time to shoot. The Rockets get the ball back and Scott Padgett (?) sinks a shot from inside the paint (if not in the paint, it was darn close) at the buzzer. Houston 92-NY Knicks 91.

Fire Lenny!!!

p.s. I just turned on SportsCenter and Stephen A. says Lenny may not be coach anymore.

Okay, who's next?

Slip sliding away ...

The Knicks being who they are, I tuned in only for the 4th quarter last night at Toronto. In the 6 minutes of game time that I was watching, the game went from tied, to the Knicks down 17. It was ridiculous - no one on Toronto missed a 3 pointer. Donyell Marshall went 3 for 3. Lamont Murray stuck two 3s. And Jalen Rose was killing the Knicks.

Maybe the Knicks should get Rose. They're not beating anyone without him.

Wait, did I just say that?

Longing for Vintage Knicks

You remember ... back in November ... Crawford was hitting threes for New York, Nazr was becoming a pleasant suprise. Penny healthy enough to make the smart plays the Knicks needed.

I like what they had today though: marbury, crawford, ariza, JYD, sweetney.

But the Knicks can't finish a game to save their lives.

Thankful for the snow

When my satellite went out last night, the Knicks were tied with the Hornets in the first half. The Hornets are the worst team in the league, and according to the Knicks announcers, were the worst shooting team in the league at 39%. In the first half last night, the Hornets were shooting 59%.

Uh-huh. Good defense Knicks.

Fire Lenny, Part II

Oy.

I like Stephon Marbury, but he cannot carry the Knicks. Last night we saw the worst thing - what happens when what little size the Knicks have is trapped on the bench with foul trouble. We saw JYD, Ariza, Bruno Sundov, Penny and Moochie on the court at the same time. Yikes. No wonder the Knicks gave up a double-digit lead to Sacramento. But, Allan Houston, Marbury and TimThom were not in foul trouble.

Lenny, why open the 2nd quarter with your scrubs? Yeah, Kurt and Nazr had fouls, but a line up of Steph, Houston, Ariza, JYD and TimThom is better than that above. Stupid Lenny Wilkens. The last two games he's killed Knicks runs by making odd and ill-timed substitutions. Against the Nets, I can't recall what it was, but it killed Knicks momentum.

The Knicks are not good enough to suffer these kinds of mistakes. They still can't finish on the break (TimThom) and don't hustle enough for loose balls, with the exception of Ariza, JYD and Sweetney. The last thing they need is Lenny making it worse.

Fire Lenny and trade TimThom - it's our only hope.

Nets suck

But last night, the Knicks sucked just a little bit more.
