Please Isiah, don't hire PJ Carlesimo

That would be a terrible mistake. Thanks to Basketball Reference.com (see link at left), I was able to gather some evidence of PJ's futility.

1994-1995 Portland Trailblazers – 44-38, Lost in 1st round of Playoffs
1995-1996 Portland Trailblazers – 44-38, Lost in 1st round of Playoffs
1996-1997 Portland Trailblazers – 49-33, Lost in 1st round of Playoffs
1997-1998 Golden State Warriors – 16-63, Did not qualify for Playoffs
1998-1999 Golden State Warriors – 21-29, Did not qualify for Playoffs
1999-2000 Golden State Warriors – 6-21, Did not qualify for Playoffs

PJ's W-L record over his 6 seasons is, 183-222(.452) and in the playoffs, 3-9(.250)

Latrell choked PJ on December 1, 1997, at which point Golden State was 1-13 in PJ's first year as coach of Golden State. They had finished the previous year 30-52 with Rick Adelman.

Given how poorly Golden State played the remainder of his time there, I think Latrell was on to something. Please Isiah, don't doom the Knicks to first-round exits from the playoffs.

Comments:
I remember PJ. I think we hired him because he looked like Paul Allen (the computer nerd look). He coached like a computer nerd too. ;) Although I will say that he did better than the bench warmer from the personnel dept. running the team like we had this year.

One NBA team is going to wise up and just not have a head coach. It'll save money, and every player in the league will want to play there.
