Zach Randolph, eh?
I've got mixed feelings about this trade.
I like the swap in talent - no question there. Randolph and Fred Jones are worth it to get rid of Steve Francis and Channing Frye. All Frye did was shoot jumpers. I know Jones can finish I hear he plays some defense. And Dan Dickau at least has a small expiring contract, so if he needs to just go away, it won't be expensive.
However, Randolph's contract is 4 years of badness, as compared to just 2 years of badness (Francis'). So that will keep the Knicks expensive for a while longer yet, as my dream of LeBron in Orange and Blue moves a bit further out into the unlikely future.
And how the Knicks play on defense with Eddy Curry and Randolph on the court at the same time remains to be seen. Neither is a shot blocker and neither plays very good defense at all. I guess they're going to be counted on to score 50 every game.
We'll see. I don't think Isiah is done. He has 17 players and that is 2 too many.

Sweet, glad you're posting again here. I hope to be following the NBA a little closer this year. Not sure if I'll have much of a team to root for though...
Zach is kind of a stupid player. If he can gain any dimensionality and/or court awareness, he could hit another level. That is a big IF however.
I was sorry to see him leave Portland in some ways, but I really like the crew we have, so it doesn't hurt too much.

Hey Snabby,
Thanks for joining in.
Like most people, I see Randolph 2x a year, and know more about his off-court transgressions than his on-court accomplishments.
But I wasn't blown away by Randolph when I had seen him play against the Knicks. Maybe the 20-10 comes by virtue of being the only option.

Hey Catfish!
How's Zach behavin'? I'm not missing him. It's nice to not be weary of reading the police reports ;). Of course, we still have Darius so the threat is not gone. Frye seems to be doing quite well. Have you noticed Zach padding his rebound numbers buy snagging his own misses? I wish him well and will even behappy for him if he makes the All-Star squad, although he now has more competition to get in. Eh, he's earned it, they should put him in.
I look forward to Feb 1! :)
